Now that you've seen the Directory, consider these effective ways to get your message to the Conscious Consumer:
Your display ad will be placed in one of the five categories (or the premium pages). Choose your category carefully to be in the best place to get your message across. The categories help consumers find answers to these specific questions:
Who? Your name and logo are important and should be displayed prominently.
What? Consumers are looking for specific products and services. If your ad lists them, they will call you. If your ad does not list something, some people assume you do not offer it.
Where? If your consumers come to you or mail in orders, it's important to let them know directions or your complete address. If you bring your business to the consumer, be sure to state where you will go.
When? The book can be used 24-hours, 365-days a year. If you or your phone is available all the time, it may get you a call when you want it or when some other business might NOT be available!
Why? What makes you special? Books/Tapes/Media? Degrees? Licenses? Credit Cards Accepted? Years in business? These are the important, special or rare offerings that you should promote when you advertise. The business or practice that answers these questions first will be the first to get these consumers to call, write or to come to your location.
Selecting Your Headings:
Each of your listings is a new opportunity for you to be found by a prospective consumer. You should list yourself under the specific headings that closely describe the products/services you offer. Also you should list in headings where your typical consumer would be looking.
You appear 6 times when you place any display ad in the Directory. You may pick 5 headings where your listing will appear plus your display ad. This exposure spreads your name, location and phone number throughout the Directory for consumers to see often. Many read the Directory from cover-to-cover and become familiar with your name. Your business or practice may require more than these 6 insertions. Additional listings are available at $25.00 per listing for the entire year!

Consumers have many resources at their disposal. Magazines and other periodicals are usually read and discarded or recycled so that they don't accumulate in the consumer's home or office. A phone book is different because consumers know that they will need to refer to this book frequently throughout the year. They usually keep their phone books handy, often in full view when visitors come. The Natural Resource Directory is often given special treatment. Many practitioners with waiting rooms keep a copy of this Directory out for patients or clients to peruse.
